Hold tight and maintain a comfortable grip while you whip up a lather for a good wet shave. The simple folded rim of the Skull Comfy Grip Wet Shave Lather Bowl makes it easy to hang on to and you can use the underside to gently clean off any excess lather for less mess.
Washing it is easy with soap and water or you can even put it in the dishwasher. It's also microwave safe.
The Rebecca Graves Pottery Skull Comfy Grip Wet Shave Lather Bowl is individually wheel thrown on the potter's wheel. When it is halfway to dry (we call it leather hard), a black slip (really wet clay with colorants added) is brushed over the surface. Rebecca then free hand carved each bowl before setting them on the rack to dry for several days. Once dry, the bowl is bisque fired, dipped in a clear glaze she mixes in the studio and finally fired to cone 6 (about 2230 degrees) which takes 24-28 hours from the time the kiln starts until it is cool enough to unload. The entire process takes a minimum of 10 days but if it's humid and drying is slowed, can take up to 3.
The dish measures approximately 4.5" at its wides point and is about 2.5-3" tall. Please keep in mind that each one is handmade so yours will vary slightly from what is pictured, but we promise to send you one seriously badass bowl.
This bowl is currently out of stock but more are in the process of being made in my studio. Estimated ship date for pre-orders is mid-October. I will ship pre-orders in the order they are received and as soon as they come out of the kiln.
