Evening rolls around, your favorite tunes are playing, ice cubes are clinking in your favorite whiskey cup and it's time to unwind with a tasty smoky treat. Smoking a fine cigar can be such a lovely ritual. Treat your stick right by resting the hand rolled beauty in a handmade ashtray and enjoy.
Washing it is easy with soap and water or you can even put it in the dishwasher.
The Rebecca Graves Pottery Skull Cigar Ashtray is individually wheel thrown on the potter's wheel. When it is halfway to dry (we call it leather hard), a black slip (really wet clay with colorants added) is brushed over the surface. Rebecca then free hand carves each dish before setting them on the rack to dry for several days. Once dry, the dish is bisque fired, dipped in a clear glaze she mixes in the studio and finally fired to cone 6 (about 2230 degrees) which takes 24-28 hours from the time the kiln starts until it is cool enough to unload. The entire process takes a minimum of 10 days but if it's humid and drying is slowed, can take up to 3 weeks.
The dish measures approximately 4.5" diameter and is about 1.25" tall. Please keep in mind that each one is handmade so yours will vary slightly from what is pictured, but we promise to send you one seriously badass soap dish.
